Entry #3: Mint Condition

It was a pretty chill night. There was a brisk breeze outside and the night was glimmering. I was craving a nostalgic item to satisfy my sweet tooth at the late hours of the night. I slowly unwrapped the paper packaging, creating a swift but quiet shredding sound. This, revealing the roll of smooth, white candies. While they looked perfect inside the roll, some were imperfect, with slight cracks and small bubbles on the coating. I immediately popped one in my mouth. The candy presented a cool enlightenment on my tongue. I had the candy in my mouth for a second before I bit into it, revealing a stretchy and enticing center. It was a nostalgic feeling, as I used to eat one after every dance practice I would attend when I was a child. It wasn't quite the same since the ones I used to get after practice were of the fruity variety, but the texture was extremely similar and familiar. While remembering this fond memory, the mint eventually dissolved as well as my recalition. So, I ate another, and I let the thoughts roll over me once again to remember a blissful time in my past.

Entry #10: The Morphing Of Horror Movies

If you are a horror movie lover like me, you might have noticed how horror movies have morphed throughout the years. As years pass, the topics often morph with the time and evolve using new technologies. Time is the reason that practical effects that you may have seen in Friday The 13th, seem outdated compared to the new effects of today. While time can definitely make some movies cheesy and outdated, time can almost make a movie better. This is extremely true wand evident in horror flicks and distinguishes a classic.      Take Psycho for example. The movie was iconic for the time it was created in because of its use of camera shots and combination of recognizable music. With this description, you probably thought of the shower scene where the killer kills one of his female visitors. Age has made this movie even more amazing because it led to a cult following. The movie also changed the industry with showing how scary ordinary people can be.   ...

Entry #8: Let Me Give You Some Advice...

Losing weight is usually seen as a moment of celebration. It's incredibly challenging and when you see before and afters of those who do lose weight, it seems as though everything gets better for them. It seems as though everything is sunshine and rainbows for them. Losing weight is great, but if you are someone who is going through the trek, it is important to keep your expectations in check. Now please do not take this as a discoragment piece, as this is not the intent at all. I just want to provide some advice and some things that I wish I knew when I first started losing weight.      First things first, I am not speaking about this as someone who has never gone through this process. I have lost in total 74 pounds. There are many things to look forward to about losing weight. Maybe it's the projected confidence to wear that new skin tight dress that you have in your closet, or to be able to go on an airplane without a seat belt exten...

Entry #7: Is Food Fresh?

Food. It's something everyone is familiar with. Ever since you were a child food was a big portion of your life. Whether you had basketball practice that ran late and you had McDonalds for dinner or at Thanksgiving, food is a central point in every person's life. It can be used as motivation to work hard or it could be used to be destructive. But do we really think about where our food comes from? I am guilty of just grabbing the first bunch of chicken breasts I see when I walk by the poultry without doing any research on the farm it came from. After watching the film Fresh, I have now been encouraged to rethink that habit. The content in the film Fresh were both shocking and optimistic. In the film, I heard about many practices that were brutal and scary such as feeding cows their own dead species to fatten them up. This also applied to the eating habits of chicken too and how farmers would often cover these carcases with enough sugar to get the animals to eat ...
